Collective worship is held daily at St Michael’s CE Primary School. Each week has a new focus and new music.
In Term 5 we are focusing on our Christian Value of HONESTY. It takes courage to be honest. We will begin the term thinking about being honest with others – becoming a trustworthy person; being honest with yourself – saying no to lying and cheating, owning up to mistakes; being honest with friends and family – agreeing always to tell the truth, and end with a focus on the Christian feast of Pentecost. Our Term 5 reflection:
Every week the children nominate a peer who has demonstrated one our Christian values. These value nominees are celebrated in our weekly Celebration Assembly and are displayed on our Christian Values board in the school hall.
Last year we indulged in a week-long celebration of the Easter story. Over the course of the week beginning 27th March, 2017, each class led worship on one of the elements of the Easter story. Parents were invited to attend and join with us, as we went on a journey from Palm Sunday to Jesus’ crucifixion. This week of worship culminated in the celebration of His resurrection at St. Michael’s Church, Playden. The children really enjoyed leading worship and bringing the story to life. Through this we hope they have a deeper understanding and ability to reflect on what Easter means to Christians.
