This year we are known as Jellyfish class!
Mrs. Duly is the class teacher and she is assisted by Mrs. Padovani.
As Year 2 and Year 3 children are in the same class their work is carefully differentiated to allow for differences in age, experience and ability. Their learning is linked closely to our big question of the term (see Curriculum: Questioning Curriculum). Children in Year 2 are statutorily assessed at the end of Key Stage 1, using national curriculum tasks and tests to support teacher assessment, and results are reported to parents at the end of the year. The Year 3 pupils enjoy working with their younger peers and acting as ‘apprentices’ in their learning.
This year, the Year 2 and Year 3 pupils will benefit from Woodland Learning alongside their Year 4 peers as they begin the year with the wonderful enriching experiences that it has to offer, giving them the opportunity to develop an inquisitive and positive relationship with the outside world.
COVID-19 arrangements: Term 6
From 1st June, we have a phased return to school for Reception, Year 1 and Year 6 pupils. The school is remains closed to pupils in Years 2 and 3 and home learning arrangements remain in place.
Every Monday each class is set a weekly home learning timetable by their class teacher alongside resources and any additional learning support required. Mr. Taylor provides a weekly ‘PE with Mr. T’ page as well (see ‘Curriculum; PE’). This is all emailed to every family. Families also receive personalised telephone support. The weekly timetables can be seen below.
