Year 3 & Year 4: Malorie Blackman class

This year we are known as Malorie Blackman class!

Mrs. Churchill is the class teacher, alongside Mrs. Duly and they are assisted by Mrs. Kirkham. Mrs. Churchill teaches every Monday to Thursday and Mrs. Duly teaches every Friday.

As Year 3 and Year 4 children are in the same class their work is carefully differentiated to allow for differences in age, experience and ability. Their learning is linked closely to our big question of the term (see Curriculum: Questioning Curriculum). The Year 4 pupils enjoy working with their younger peers, serving as mentors and taking on leadership roles, whilst the Year 3 pupils grow in stature as they find themselves able to accomplish tasks they could not do without the assistance of the older children.

Topics 2021-22

Term 5: What makes a place home?
Term 4: Why is the English language so complicated? (Part 2)
Term 3: Why is the English language so complicated? (Part 1)
Term 2: Why do humans travel?
