This year we are known as Seashell Class!
Mrs Pepler and Miss O’Rourke are our class teachers in Years 4 and 5 and they are assisted by Mrs. Kirkham.
As Year 4 and Year 5 children are in the same class their work is carefully differentiated to allow for differences in age, experience and ability. Their learning is linked closely to our big question of the term (see Curriculum: Questioning Curriculum). The Year 5 pupils enjoy working with their younger peers, serving as mentors and taking on leadership roles, whilst the Year 4 pupils grow in stature as they find themselves able to accomplish tasks they could not do without the assistance of the older children.
This year, the Year 4 pupils will benefit from Woodland Learning alongside their Year 2 and Year 3 peers as they begin the year immersed in the wonderful enriching experiences that it has to offer, giving them the opportunity to develop an inquisitive and positive relationship with the outside world. During this time, the Year 5 pupils will be on a week-long residential trip to the Isle of Wight where they too, will experience determination, build positive attitudes and participate in teamwork whilst building life-long memories.
Wonderful woodland days!
