At St. Michael’s, we follow the National Curriculum which is a blueprint used by schools to ensure that teaching standards are universally consistent. Our aim is to ensure that we have a broad and balanced curriculum designed to meet the needs of our pupils and equip them with key skills to be life-long learners ready for an ever-changing 21st Century.
We deliver this curriculum through an imaginative and inspiring enquiry-based approach where many of these subjects are taught holistically alongside some discrete lessons. Our curriculum map ensures that statutory requirements are met and we plan and teach progressive key skills and knowledge in each of the subjects that we deliver.
Our Curriculum is mapped and delivered though a two-year rolling cycle (Cycles A & B) so that we can ensure a full and comprehensive curriculum to our mixed age classes.
To view our enquiry-led delivery of this curriculum, please see the section ‘Learning’ on each class page.
