Modern Foreign Languages

Learning a foreign language is a liberation from insularity and provides an opening to other cultures. The pupils at St. Michael’s are taught Spanish in key stage 2.

The teaching of Spanish enables pupils to express their ideas and thoughts in another language and to understand and respond to its speakers, both in speech and in writing. It provides opportunities for them to communicate for practical purposes through a variety of speaking and listening activities, songs and games.
