SIAMS refers to the Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools.
The Church of England’s purpose in education is to enable the children, young people and communities they serve to flourish as they experience education for wisdom, hope, community and dignity and to discover life in all its fullness which Jesus offers. SIAMS has sought to provide Church schools with a tool for effective self-evaluation and external review to enable continued development.
As a Church of England school, St. Michael’s is committed to the vision of the Church and to its own distinctive Christian vision to enable pupils and the community to flourish:
At St. Michael’s our vision is that every child is given an excellent education, being valued for who they are. We believe that when children feel valued they are encouraged to be ambitious both personally and academically. We value our entire community, treating everyone with love, honesty, forgiveness and respect, rooted in the moral principle of ‘do to others as you would have them do to you’ (Luke 6:31).
