As a Church of England School, we value the opportunity to visit both of the churches in our parish and do so to celebrate Christmas, Easter and our July Leavers’ Service.
School Christmas Service
Each year a traditional celebration of the birth of Jesus takes place. The whole school is involved in telling the Christmas story: with bible readings, traditional carols and a tableau of the Nativity comes to life, as Key Stage one and Reception children play significant roles. It is a joy to be part of and a fitting start to the Christmas holidays.
Harvest
In addition, we gather every year to celebrate Harvest in our school hall to which all parents are invited. We always have an outstanding turnout with extremely generous contributions which are distributed to the Rye Food Bank Centre.
Easter Service
Each year we gather in St. Michael’s Church, Playden to celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord. This service maps Jesus’ story from Palm Sunday and his entry to Jerusalem, to his death on the cross and his resurrection thereafter. Parent are invited to the church to join us on this journey where they enjoy listening to a series of readings recounting this part of Jesus’ life. The story is interspersed with wonderful songs celebrating the true meaning of Easter.
