Innovators: Year 5 & Year 6

Miss Theobalds is our class teacher; Miss Winkley teaches us on a Wednesday. They are supported by Miss Foster and Mrs Mason.

In Innovators we take on responsibilities such as house captains, sports captains and librarians. We also help to support other classes across the school and in particular buddy the children new to our school when they join in September.

In our learning we build upon our previous learning, innovating with our existing learning and new ideas. Learning is linked closely to our big question of the term. We are encouraged to take a responsible attitude to learning by assessing our own work and setting targets for ourselves. As the pupils at the top end of the school, Year 6s are aware of the demands of the National Curriculum tests, which are taken in May, and work with our teacher in monitoring our progress towards these tests.

We usually have the opportunity to take part in a residential visit (once every two years); this experience helps to build determination, positive attitudes and allow us to develop excellent teamwork skills whilst building life-long memories.
